A huge faceted Ethiopian opal centre with a pair of the finest 'pigeon blood' shoulders to keep her company. Pigeon blood is the deepest and most sought after pink red shade of ruby, and, of course, has the best name. Diamond set antique filigree ornates the side of the ring.

Suzanne's Claws Crossed pigeon wears a wears a juicy half carat emerald-cut handmade ruby ring stacked with a brilliant full diamond set eternity band. The thick shank of this ring was made to match the engagement and wedding bands that its to be stacked with. Yes, this chunky ring is designed as part of a triple stack, and she works so well.

This huge, flawless, blood red garnet is framed perfectly by a halo of hot pink rubies. I love clashing colours! They work because the similarities make the differences even more jarring, they play with each other. The warm yellow gold halo is held in the cool asymmetric white claws. Not for the faint hearted.

Grace and I went through her Grandad's coin collection to pick out our favourites to make this commemorative necklace for her. Inspired by a 'Gypsy' necklace where by coins would have been worn around the neck for safe keeping and removed to pay for things. This also plays on the very out of fashion style of 'wearing your wealth'. The bold over opulence, now considered crass, 'lower class' and very out of fashion makes me love it even more. Because, more is more!

This piece for me, is not a ring, but a miniature sculpture. A juicy apricot heart is held within five gold claws, but the real magic lies in the asymmetric teardrops that support the stone. Set into each handmade rose gold bezel and holding either a pigeon blood, Burmese ruby or a green tourmaline, is a teardrop. Playing with the angles that we view and appreciate jewellery from, the stories they tell, and the significance a shape can hold, this piece, for me, pushes the boundaries of what jewellery is.

To design Ronan's engagement ring he sent me a few photographs of his girlfriends ring collection and a list of her favourite colours. The centre stone is a square cushion cut tourmaline with a selection of clashing and complimentary stones growing up around her. I added one small diamond to the side as a tiny jewellery 'fuck you' to the traditional engagement ring.
Tourmaline / Ruby (both traditional hot pink and pigeon blood shades) / Madeira citrine / Sapphire / Emerald / Diamond

Charles selected this included tourmaline heart for the centre of his engagement ring. The flaws inside the stone give it texture and intrigue, and also, make me think of a delicious raspberry flavour boiled sweet. The three diamonds in the piece were taken from Charles' Mother's ring to keep the family significance of the piece and the other stones were selected by colour to bring out the flashes within that tasty heart. The large stone on the left hand side is a pigeon blood ruby, it was the hardest shade to choose and also, probably the most expensive stone in the piece, not that that matters at all.

Sophie asked me to make her a ring using this tourmaline stone she bought. I don't often work with client's stones but for this, I made an exception. Watermelon tourmaline is a naturally occurring colour change that happens when the crystal is growing and shades from pink to green. Hence the name. Paired with pale pink, dark green tourmaline and a deep ruby to highlight the different shades within the stone.
