In 2021 I made the decision to no longer take on client commissions. Although for years I had enjoyed listening to peoples stories and it's been an honour to be trusted to design the very personal pieces that encapsulate them, the demand for these pieces started to grow faster than I could create them. They take months to make, and often take a heavy emotional toll on myself. I found the pressure of growing requests and the emotional significance and weight of each one had become too much for me. I became very overwhelmed and burnt out. I realised that I needed time and space to create the pieces I wanted to, and to tell my own stories through jewellery.
Since making this decision I have felt free to take my work in new directions, to push the boundaries of my ideas and to explore without fear. I love working this way and I am so grateful for the support of my work that allows me to do this.
